I feel awful for the life this child has ahead of him. Addicted at 2, he’ll probably lose his voice by 15 and have cancer by 20.

those people need slapped. i wouldn't even give my kid a lighter, let alone let him smoke.

I suppose the only thing "neat" about this was at the end when the kid threw the cigarette on the ground in favor of a snack...

I think maybe we need someone at neatorama to give these links the go-ahead before they automatically post.

That is very disturbing. What is more disturbing are the adults that are encouraging it. China's little emperors won't be there for long. The kid is going to die young!

I agree with Justin. I'm rather appalled that this was posted at all.

Justin is right. It's not in the realm of "neat".

omg, some of the stuff posted lately is far from neat. this is awful~

Darwinism at it's finest. Hopefully the kid will wake up in the middle of the night, start playing with the lighter, start the house on fire, and toddle outside, letting the parents burn to death.

not only do the people need to be slapped but a good kick in the pants would probably be more effective!

Absolutely appalling display of ignorance. Babies smoking cigarettes is not a funny. I want to smack the crap out of those people. I want to smack the crap out of anyone I see smoking around a child. I remember as I child I would lay down on the floor while I watched parents while we watched evening television, because at school I learned that if you were caught in a fire you should get down low to crawl on the floor to stay out of the rising smoke.

BTW, Justin, Tanya, and Titan: be careful offering your opinion on what should be posted on "Neatorama" (not that I don't agree with you). I once suggested that a story on severe child abuse (little girl locked in the room of a trailer from birth to 12 years) was far from "Neat" and I was raked over the coals for my close-mindedness.

Violet Blue, thats so sad. Have you considered maybe getting some therapy...Im not saying you need to be on heavy medication....just maybe someone to talk to about it? Just a suggestion. No one should have to endure something like that. It can really leave a lasting emotional scar...

He's got strong fingers. My six year old was trying to light the blowtorch today and couldn't get the lighter to click. No one in our house smokes, but lighters are handy to have!

Stop being racist. This is just their cultural practice.

Gotta love communism eh? Or maybe it's that wonderful eastern
philosophy b.s. lifestyle in progress that's always being foisted upon us westerners as "the way". Look. What do you overly sensitive mentally deranged leftards expect? Hell they had to scrub down Beijing before the olympics were allowed to take place there for all the pollution. And frankly I don't give a damn if "others" agree with me or not. I think it's great that videos such as these are posted. A taste of reality is what is needed, not idealistic nonsense.

That certainly was a strange thing to see. Watching an activity that only adults do in such a young child... it set of a 'wrong!' alert in my head.

    February 7th, 2009 at 3:36 pm

This is sad :( The kids is cute (not the smoking) but my guess he will age fast and dye young. It's a touch of reality and for sure not something you see everyday. I know in some countries it's accepted for children to smoke. But if we were to think about it, the US is degrading our children's health with fatty junk food. That's cutting life short and harmful the body as well.

Maybe sharing this video will spark some action on parenthood, the dangers of smoking, government support of tobacco, and overseas marketing techniques of large corporations. Maybe sharing this video will save some lives.

    That would be Neat.

Is it just me... or does it look as if he kid is NOT inhaling?

  23. Mr. Stamp
    February 7th, 2009 at 4:12 pm

How many of you who are outraged about this, favor the murder of babies by abortion?

  24. LisaL
    February 7th, 2009 at 4:17 pm

It didn't look like he was inhaling, but that still doesn't change the fact that that was awful.
Can't believe those adults were encouraging that.

    mother hubbard:

How does this video reflect anything about "communism" or "eastern philosophy?". This is just plain stupidity on the parent's part regardless of race or country.

This video actually reminds me of another video of a 2 year old smoking weed.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPgKZOfG89Q

I guess you could call this the product of the "American philosophy" then right?

Your ethnocentrism and ignorance is appalling to say the least.

    February 7th, 2009 at 4:24 pm

I can't believe how cool it makes him look.
    I should start smoking too.

  27. Sadie
    February 7th, 2009 at 4:25 pm

Kids imitate what they see adults do (my brother once learned to flip people off at three years). This kid may not be inhaling now, but he'll probably be smoking once he gets older. That's very sad. And to Bobby in comment 13, disapproving this isn't racism -- it's human health, which is universal.

    February 7th, 2009 at 5:20 pm

What a touchy group. If you don't want to see it don't look. Jesus Christ. Don't blame the blog because you're easily offended.

Mr Stamp, I certainly hope you're a vegetarian. Surely you wouldn't eat meat since it requires the murder of an animal.

Smoking toddlers isn't cool but there are lots of uncool things (like Mr Stamp) that still make it to this site and a million others.

The kid has great technique (neat), but on the other hand; WTF! A two year old smoking! (Not so neat).

  32. Justin
    February 7th, 2009 at 5:31 pm

All I'm saying is it's not the kind of posts we usually get on neatorama.

So while it may be "interesting" to see how other people and cultures around the world view smoking, it's kind of a downer...

I guess I'm gonna have to check out this queuebot thing.

That's easily one of the more disturbing things I've ever seen...

  34. emzee
    February 7th, 2009 at 5:59 pm

Does no one else think that this is somehow a hoax? The kid seems awfully dexterous for a person of that age. Also, it appears to me there is something guiding his right arm/hand. Jus'sayin'.

  35. BlessedBlogger
    February 7th, 2009 at 6:06 pm

I could be wrong but this looks like a VERY good fake. I'll give them credit, it's very very good, but I've never met a child that young with that level of balance and dexterity. The way he moves his arm, hands and fingers is frankly unbelievable. I think the people who created this video hoax just wanted to see how many folks they could trick with their impressive skills. Sad that they're wasting their talent on something like this.

Those Asian kids were always more advanced.

Just imagine, he's gonna be nailin' all those chicks in kindergarten.

And fer chrissakes, would somebody give him a knife so he could open his candy bar.

    February 7th, 2009 at 9:05 pm

Something about seeing this was unsettling. I guess because it's such a bad thing to let a young kid do, and he did it with such ease that it obviously wasn't the first time.
The video clip made me feel as if just watching it made me a accessory to crime or something. :x
    Weird.

  40. Geekazoid
    February 7th, 2009 at 9:33 pm

Darn the video is gone. We must live in a bubble because I know in other countries kids that are too young to attend school are smoking. Who knows how many young kids in this world smoke. Sure it's not pleasant but it happens.

Will you guys please stop posting disturbing and decidedly non-"neat" stuff? Tossing a cat around, children smoking... These are not the reasons I read your blog, and if you keep posting this garbage I will stop reading it.

I think its fantastic this is being posted. There's actually.. discussion. Wow, what a novel concept!

In any case, these are terrible parents (if they are, in fact, the parents). I agree with marishka, I hope the vast amount of nicotine surges through the toddler's body will trigger a "kill or be killed" response and he murders his parents.

I agree with the majority, this post is far from neat. I thought it was just me that had in mind that neatorama was starting to lose that neat coolness that got me hooked as a daily viewer in the first place. Some of this was stated by a reader in todays daily post, "the upcoming Queue is wrecking neatorama". There was even a post last week that had a link to a site for the posted article with no warning that the site contained full nudity and some explicit content. I used to let my son's look through the post with me , but now I must preview everything just to be sure. Neatorama come back !!!!!

I am shocked and surprised to see that this link is still up even though I specifically told you that I do not like to see things with which I do not agree, so I'd like to know what exactly is up with Neatorama?

I will not be visiting until you begin to give in to my needling and whining! You have made me cry all over my brassiere, and that I cannot forgive!

What a bunch of whiners! This shit happens all over the 3rd world.. been there, seen it, cant do anything about it.
Get a dose of reality once in a while, things happen that are outside your bubble of normality..big deal.
Sucking on that ciggy cant be any worse than breathing in that polluted air they have over there.

It wouldve been cooler if he was puffing on a cigar, ciggys for kids are so last century.
