Black and White Twins -Again!

Dean Durrant and Alison Spooner of Fleet, Hants, England had twins seven years ago, two girls, Hayleigh appearing black, Lauren appearing white. The odds of such a combination are quite high -but now they’ve done it again! Alison gave birth to twin girls November 13th. Miya has dark skin and Leah appears white.

Alison said: “I was shocked when I first found out I was pregnant with twins again — but I never thought for one second they would turn out the same as last time.

After the babies were born they weren’t breathing properly, so they were taken to a special care unit.

It wasn’t until about five days after they were born that we saw them side by side for the first time.

And when they were together it was clear that one was darker than the other. It was unbelievable.”

    I'm pretty sure both pairs would be fraternal twins.

    yeah i meant they just looked very similar, feature wise. That would be pretty crazy if they werent fraternal twins =P

    Hadn't thought about that as a possibility...Perhaps I'll try one at a time instead of twins for better odds ;)

    History repeats itself: In days of slavery many white slave owners had affairs with the slaves. Many people who think they are white are not 100%. They look and think they are. If we look back far enough into family history I think just maybe there may be the answer to this mystery. Just an idea.

    didn't know this was so "rare", my husband and I have a set of twins one white one black. We didn't make the news???

    There is a couple here in our town(he's black,she's white)and they have a set of twins. One is white as snow and the other dark as a summer tan....

    Despite what other people may say and or think of your 2 sets of unique twins, they are still beatifull.

    My wife and I had black & white twins 11 years ago. We were just glad they were healthy. Not make an international freak show out of them. These couples trying to make a buck exploiting their 'special' twins make we want to vomit.

    Maybe this also can change how scientist look at the genetic aspect of race and hopefully how people look at it as well.
