Eyes on the side of your head gives a larger field of vision without needing to turn the head. (Of course you also need the ability to focus the eye anywhere in that field of vision, for example a chameleon)

I would probably be more convincing if I could type better than a fish but apparently I cannot. I meant to say “I am at the zenith of animalia” but was too busy showing off by shaking my head to type it properly.
