A Book on Dating -Written by a 9-year-old!

Fourth grader Alec Greven wrote a pamphlet called “How to Talk to Girls” which became a best seller at his school book fair in Castle Rock, Colorado. The 46-page book has now been picked up by publisher Harper Collins. Some tidbits:

“It is easy to spot pretty girls because they have big earrings, fancy dresses and all the jewelry,” he writes in Chapter Three.

“Pretty girls are like cars that need a lot of oil.”

He advises, “The best choice for most boys is a regular girl. Remember, some pretty girls are coldhearted when it comes to boys. Don’t let them get to you.”

He believes the best way to approach a girl is to keep it to a simple “hi.”

“If I say hi and you say hi back, we’re probably off to a good start,” he said.

As for his own love life, he said he is not dating anyone at the moment. “I’m a little too young,” he confessed.

    Ha ha, that is too cute. He himself says he's too young to date, but it's nice to see his little innocence when it comes to relationships. I was a little afraid our youth had become 'corrupted' with all this garbage that is pushed onto them from the internet and media like MTV, so this is way too cool. Great for the kid! Proves that you don't need to talk or act like a sailor in order to get attention.

    Ha, silly Alec Greven,
    I already wrote that book 18 years ago...

    And, coincidentally, it was also titled
    "How To Talk To Girls."

    Some of his advices in the book might just work. Too sad that people who needs advice probably won't buy a book written by a 9 years old.

    he's 9 years old! and hasnt dated yet! Sounds to me like someone yoinked a tip from "top 10 ways to get free publicity and sell lots of books (even if they're crap)"

    Dating advice from a nine year old? For nine year olds? Recess isn't a time for dating. Girls are not prizes to be "won" and I think some girls might take offense to the comment about being wary of pretty girls. Go out and play and learn how to talk to people not just girls.

    Great for this kid!! he's got it right from the start... and what is up with all those people bullying a child?! Go back to the playground and get your "wiggles out"! oh! and most women -and men- have are high maintenance, specially the good looking ones! and unless you were one, you won't know it ;0
