You know…I love the Japanese sense of humour when it comes to their advertisements. They can be funny, bizarre and sometimes insightful. This ad is the type that makes me laugh out loud because of its adorable nature. A father caterpillar and his son just want to get the best tea leaves at the top.

I love this ad! But it's not Japanese, it's Thai. They absolutely love their green tea out there! Can't get enough of the stuff.

Yeah, the caterpillars are speaking Japanese, but the farmer is definitely not.

But if some bugs were talking to you while you were trying to pick some tea leaves, I guess it wouldn't matter what language they were speaking--you'd probably have some other stuff to worry about.

Hypnotic caterpillars? Are you SURE it was "tea" they're selling...? ;-)

Reminds me of the French animation series "Minuscule". This YouTube user posted some episodes:

Best video I've seen yet today. I enjoyed the baby caterpillar 'jumping' while completely vertical on a plant stem.

Actually, it is Thai ads, not Japanese.

yep, it's actually ad from Thailand. Not from Japan.

But one of selling points was 'good' green tea is
supposed to come from Japan. That's why they did
it in japanese to get attention.

It was a talk of the town when it came out.

So, it's a Thai ad using Japanese as the selling language?
