Burning the Guy

Did you ever think you’d be able to see an immolation from the victim’s point of view? Tim Ireland built a “guy” (named Bob) for Guy Fawkes Night with a wireless CCTV camera in his head! Friday night, he was ceremoniously burned in effigy while Tim recorded the video at a safe distance. Link -Thanks, Tim!

Are you sure it’s supposed to be Irish? Given Guy Fawkes Night was an attempt at blowing up the British houses of parliment, the Irish celebrating it seems as odd as Australians celebrating thanksgiving.

To add to the confusion, Tim Ireland was born in Australia.

    Thanks for the linkage, chaps!

very interesting point of view angle… Although, I if I was burned at the stake I am sure the view would look a whole lot different than this YouTube video. That is one thing I don’t ever want to experience.

I’m not positive, but I think I’m a bit saddened by that.

Interesting concept to film the burning from the point of the victim. Wouldn’t have thought of that but it seems to work quite well.

the music makes it much more somber but if you had a ac/dc song or a ditty by van halen it might brighten up the mood a bit.

It looks like i pretty much imagined burning at the stake would like like from that point of view…..lame

Wow, this is actually emotional and the way it goes all blurry at 1:20 like he was losing consciousness. Poor “guy”

That was pretty disturbing. I agree with stormie24.
