Ingrid Goldbloom Bloch sees beauty in recyclables: she creates some truly awesome bustiers, garters, and underpants from recycled soda cans and hardware! When she said "trashy lingerie" who’d knew that it’s truly made from trash … oops, that’s recyclables to all you enviro-nuts! ;)

Wow, the idea of having rough tin rubbing up against nipples and other "soft parts" does not sound too appealing to me! Are they actually meant to be wearable?

I doubt they're meant to wear. They look pretty but I have to agree, they wouldn't be comfortable.

A few months ago, we had the Red Bull Can Art Exhibit stop by and there were some AMAZING sculptures there. No lingerie though.

Random tangent, I know, but those photos remind me of that exhibit. :D

Let me show you Derelicte. It is a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique.

It's nice to see that chastity belts have finally caught up with modern lightweight materials.

That is just wrong. Although wouldn't surprise me to see it on the next Sports Illustrated Eco Swimsuit!

I think this would chaff as heck, however, I had just been called to do some inventory work (part time job) to an adult store and they had some...err...interesting adult clothes that consisted of a lot of metal. ;)

Ouch, but the mens underwear looks like Mermaid mans' undies.

@Ali S. : A friend of mine who's working at the French IRS had to control a sex shop : she's still laughing about it ;)

Nipple cuts is the first thing that came to mind. Ouch.

    @ Christophe

I can easily imagine it would be hard to go about your day and try to keep a silly grin off of your face. :D I had a hard time not cracking up or doing double takes each time I had to pick up an item that I couldn't believe folks would wear or buy.

    Hey All,
    Thanks for noticing my art!
    1) No they are not meant to be worn (unless really drunk but that is for another day!)
    2) They were inspired by a walk on the beach and I was picking up all kinds of trash (tampon applicators, cig packs, soda cans etc) I decided to make a bathingsuit (show only) called "A day at the beach" with all the stuff I found. Anyway that morphed into an entire "Trashy Lingerie" series.
I also make other stuff using hardware store materials and recycled materials.
