Giant Lego Man Washes up on Beach

By John Farrier in Toys on Nov 2, 2008 at 2:22 pm

A 6-foot tall Lego figurine washed up on a beach in Brighton, UK. This follows a similar incident on a beach in the Netherlands back in August.

You probably had the same first thought that I did: scouts for a Danish invasion force.

Clearly the Lego mafia is taking out hits again. I think they were expecting the Lego sharks to take care of the evidence.

If i found that on the beach i would NEVER tell anyone (other than a couple buddies to help me get it to my house). I would be afraid the owner would come around looking for it sooner or later.

I, for one, welcome our new giant Lego overlords.

They wonder how long it will stay on the beach? Are they expecting someone to take it?

Isn’t Mr. Giant Lego man remarkably clean for something that “washed up on the beach”?

    We *are* being invaded….

    Actually, my first thought was:

Are their feet still attached? Maybe the ocean has some weird human/lego foot transfer system we don’t know about…

I agree with sise. That would be way cooler than a regular garden gnome!

I don’t want to spoil the mystery, but it’s a viral campaign by Dutch artist Ego Leonard, who is currently showing some of his work in London: Truman Brewery (off Brick Lane) from 31st October to 6th November.

The lego man has travelled before, see Ego’s website:

I’m joining with whitcwa. Please, Danish overlords, come to America and take over.
