Behold the giant skull sculpture titled Very Hungry God (2006) by Sudobh Gupta. It’s made out of hundreds of kitchen utensils, pots and pans. The 1,000 kg (about one short ton) sculpture is now on display at the Frieze Art Fair in Regent’s Park, London: Link – via BB Gadgets

Actually, 1000 Kg (2240 lbs) is exactly one long ton, or "tonne."

A short ton is just a "ton" in America, and is 2000 pounds, or about 907 Kg.

So it's neither "about" nor "short," but it is a tonne and damn cool.

Is this god hungry or angry? Or perhaps angry about being hungry?

@Premium Internet: If I'm not mistaken, 1,000 kg = 0.98 long ton and 1.1 short ton (US ton). So the answer is almost a long ton, a little over a short ton.

I actually got to see that this last spring in Venice. We passed it a bunch of times in a vaporetto. It seemed super-rad.

    This thing is killer!

Evey W? Am I mistaken or are its' front teeth made of military cannon shells? The length and color are why I ask.

    oops...
    tried tyo say:

    1000 kg = 1 tonne
just like 1 litre = 1000 cubic centimeters and so on...

    Metric.

    Its logical. get some.

(tell me, how many cubic inches to the gallon?, how many inches to the mile?)
