The idea of “if cats of had opposable thumbs” is good, but the execution falls short of the mark. Probably because other comics have done the idea so much better.

I had a cat when I was a teenager that did this. I’d go to sleep with a glass of water on the dresser at the foot of my bed. I was awoken several times by the cold splash of water- and there was Church jumping off my dresser. Dont think she used her paws though.

God help us if they ever had opposable thumbs! I’ve lived with cats with years, and they get their way just fine without them. I had a cat whose favorite way to wake me was to bat at the metal mini blinds, making a racket!
