Imagine diving to the depths of the Oceans at night and meeting one of the oldest surviving species on the planet considered a “living fossil”. Peter Ward, a paleontologist, did that very thing and met face to face a Nautilus.

Oh wow, I always thought that all those types of creatures went extinct hundreds of millions of years ago. What an amazing little creature.

I did not know that Don laFontaine passed away. 'In a world' where media rules, he was a faceless voice that you come to with cuddling confidence.

As for the Nautilus : neat.

What about Horseshoe crabs aren't they one of those living fossil thingies? I seem to remember that they are around 400 million years old. Plus they look like WWII helmets, which is always a plus.

I remember seeing one at Sea World when I was a kid. It was one of those Whoa! That thing is real!? moments.
