Steak and Strawberries: the Perfect Combination?

Posted by Alex in Food & Drinks on August 28, 2008 at 2:44 pm

I admit I’m now curious: are strawberries and steak a good food combination? Do you eat them at the same time or are the strawberries just for dessert?

Found at Incoherent Ravings of an Anglo-Americano, thanks Ariane!

clearly it’s for desert. see how it’s on a separate plate with ice cream on it?

I go with dessert as well (psst, neko: it’s written with 2 “s”: dessert - think of “sweet stuff” - “desert” think of “sand”).

The steak apparently comes with fries… and… a half tomatoe? O.o

Oh Padraig. I take special joy in people spell checking others without spell checking themselves.

Tomatoe: a variety of not-sweet fruit grown by Dan Quayle. See also: potatoe.

Actually, I combine the two all the time. Get a few strawberries and slice them up. Cook a strip steak medium rare, cut into thin strips. Toss a salad of spinach leaves and vinagrette, add in the strawberries and lay the strips of steak on top.

    Yum.
