Dad Put Kids in a Cage Because He Couldn’t Find a Baby Sitter

Ricardo Gonzalez had to bring his two small children to work every day because he can’t find a baby sitter. That in itself isn’t bad, but Gonzalez went one step further: he locked his kids in a cage while he works!

Whenever Ricardo Gonzalez went to a job site in his pickup truck, he never let his small children out of his sight. So protective was the 35-year-old south suburban man, he kept his daughters in a makeshift cage inside the truck, officials say.

One of the girls told an investigator for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services that her father locks them up because "he does a very dangerous job," according to state records reviewed by the Tribune. "My dad tightens both of us with his belt by my leg and my sister was [on] the other side of the cage tight with another belt."

Over protective my ass. Just a dick that needs to be shot.

Obviously Tim has never been an hourly wage earner (ya don’t work, ya don’t get paid) who couldn’t find someone to watch rhe children.

What would you have him do, Tim? Stay home and earn no money to buy food and pay rent? Bring them to work and allow them to roam around unsupervised in a dangerous environment? Go on welfare?

Walk in his moccasins for a while before you judge.

    Violet get a grip.
I’ve been an hourly wage worker most my life.
Locking and tying your kids into a cage is not an alternative and your argument is asinine.

You actually sound as if you condone this shit. Blow me and get a sitter.

BTW Violet, If I were the tennant in question on your crap of a blog, yes all blogs serve for an outlet for people who who otherwise be ignored, had the right to stop paying.
You showed your true worth with an argument that what that father did was OK.
Glad you left America with your self grandizing attitude. Bye Bye dip

Is it extreme that the rise in child deaths due to leaving your kid in a car has tripled?

Screw it, lets just execute everyone that does anything to anyone. There are better options, people. Take his kids away from him. If he’s unable to properly care for his kids, they become the burden of the state. No reason to go killing anyone over bad parenting. Can you really sit there with a straight face and tell me that by killing him, you’re doing the right thing? That somehow, you’re the one who knows best, and can live with the decision to kill a man for misdemeanor child endangerment.

I agree he should have done a better job caring for his kids. He and his wife could have worked out work schedules where one of them would be with the kids at home everyday. Hell, when my parents needed a babysitter, they paid one of the older neighborhood kids 10 bucks to watch us. And look how well I turned out. ;)

Read the entire article again. He didn’t have a job. He was a glorified can collector. Riding around town looking for scrap to sell at the recycler. And, this wasn’t the first time one of the parents had been dealt with by child services. You ass wipes who just fire off the hip amaze me, and yes, living in florida where several children die a year from ass holes who leave their kids in the car, i can say I know what’s right.
You idiotically or knowingly abuse your child, you should be abused yourself.

I’ll agree with Tim that “A.J.” is a stereotyping racist. It’s a shame too, because he made a non-stereotypical, non-racist comment once that I agreed with.

A crib or playpen is not the same thing as keeping a child in a cage in your car (although earl’s parents must’ve used a special playpen with a Plexiglas top and no ventilation, since he thinks they’re the same thing). Kids have died from being left in cars in the summertime.
