I feel for this guy, that looks like a horrible tattoo.

I wonder what was going through this poor man’s mind when he got it… :(

    Probably something like:

    Probably something like:
    <meta name=”description” content=”geeky, HTML, nerd, tattoo, daft” />

Hey there are a LOT worse tats out there. At least this one has a little originality to it.

“I feel for this guy, that looks like a horrible tattoo.”

I think the tattoo was *done* quite well, the lines look very sharp and the letters stay decently in line (its tricky across your neck since its not flat). Now, if I would add that one to my body…I don’t think so. What’s he to do 20 years from now when HTML is just an archaic language, it would be like someone walking around with a COBOL tattoo.

I hope he has a DOCTYPE tattooed on his scalp. It would be sad if it didn’t validate.

    That is one excellent tat.

Hmm. I still can’t understand why people don’t remember the golden rule of tattoos: “What maybe cool now will be lame in the future.”

ex: Tribal tattoo’s? Cool at first then turned lame.
ex: Chinese, Japanese, or any other Asian language that you thought meant “Faith, Fire, Hero, Courage etc”? Cool now lame.

I could go on. The only tattoo I know won’t go out is the idea of tattooing your kids names on yourself. That I’ve seen on people alot.

    I agree with Ali S.

Reminds me of the funny SNL skit about lower back tattoos.

Gah… I meant, I wonder if he’s got a tattoo somewhere. (If this comment’s HTML gets buggered up too, I give up).

How the heck did you guys put the HTML codes in there? It just disappears on me…

Okay, I wonder if he’s got an “end body” tattoo somewhere. Now I don’t care. I’m just pissed at HTML.

I like it, the cool part is its kinda odd now but becomes more rare and unique with time, like ryanp said…tight!

html is just barely ‘nerd’. and hardly ‘nerdcore.’ lets see some assembler, c++, lisp, or something like that! :P

I think it’s fly-looking and it’ll look good even after its meaning becomes obsolete.

That’ll probably look better in 20 years than a COBOL tattoo would today. Far more people understand the basics of HTML than ever understood COBOL.

    HTML isn’t nerdy. It’s 14-year-old-girly.

    HTML? COBOL?

What about RPG? Only a real hooman can put 80 columns across their neck.

I have to second the motion on feeling sorry for the guy. That tattoo is lame.

I love this tattoo! I went and had one of my own geek tattoos done last week, but I’m not convinced it’s worth the level of explanation it’s necessitated. Or the fact that people keep asking me if it says ‘BOS’. http://www.flickr.com/photos/scarlettsusi/2404535959/
