I'm pretty sure this was actual candid dialogue from interviews. That's what makes it so funny. Otherwise it wouldn't be nearly as good.

anthony the American version was produced by Aardman Animation so its more like a case of Brits trying to americanize their own ideas to cash in on a larger market and failing

It would be a good first attempt, but they need to work on eye appeal. As it is, heavy-ish looking wood doesn't cut it for me.
