OMG Lists details 7 Weird Superheros Who Won’t Ever Hit the Silver Screen (But Should). Would you believe Arm-Fall-Off-Boy, whose superpower is that he can pull one arm off with the other? Or the Chlorophyll Kid, who can stimulate plants to grow fast? These superheroes apparently appeared in some comic book somewhere, since there are panels, but no explanations of their origin are given. Link -via Digg

You know, Stil Man doesn't really count; he's a villain!

Matter-Eater Lad and Bouncing Boy are members of DC's Legion of Super Heroes.

Chlorophyll Kid fell into a vat of concentrated fertilizer. He appeared in a lot of LSH comics. It's not that stupid of a power if used properly.

Arm Fall Off Boy was a joke.

The Black Racer was a modern incarnation of Death, the idea being that "modern" gods would use modern instruments instead of a horse or a chariot. He inhabited the body of a Vietnam soldier who was completely paralyzed. The only time he moved was when he became Death and took the soul of a warrior.

Matter-Eater Lad came from the planet Bismoll (yes, on purpose) where people had evolved to eat anything.

Bouncing Boy accidentally drank an experimental formula. The Legion thought he was a joke too but his persistence and ability to use his powers wisely changed their mind.

Color Kid was a member of the Substitute Heroes, people that the LSH rejected because their powers weren't useful. The Subs still wanted to do good though. It's unclear whether his powers merely changed the color of an object or changed its nature. He frequently used his powers to camouflage objects. Once he changed green kryptonite to blue kryptonite to save Superboy.

Stiltman is a Marvel character so I have to pass. :)

I remember Black Racer! He was sort of a cop-off of Silver Surfer.

ArlFallOffBoy reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail's Black Knight

    It's just a flesh wound!

I think Arm Fall Off Boy was the main character in the book "A Farewell to Arms". I could be wrong.

Thanks for the groan, Evan. The old jokes are still the best...

Whereas the more "normal" comic book characters do things like punch time, shoot shampoo arrows, and speak in rhyming couplets...?
