Opening Day Snow

By Miss Cellania in Sports on Apr 2, 2008 at 11:00 am

150clevelandThe Cleveland Indians found the playing field covered with snow on opening day 2007. Grounds crews went to work, and so did Dale Omori with the Cleveland Plain Dealer, who took this time-lapse video. As the snow kept falling, the crews kept working. Link -via Metafilter

Yeah, I agree with Cindy. Just cancel the game. It’s a dumb sport anyway.

You may think it’s a dumb sport, but they’re getting paid to do that, and the clubhouses hate refunding all of that money. It makes sense to me. Really neat video by the way.

I wonder if they did a cost-benefit analysis of building a dome.

Of course the players could just buck up and play in the snow. I doubt that any of them would melt in the moisture.

And if they played in the snow, imagine the chaos if players grabbed up snowballs and used them as baseballs to screw with the opposing team. Now then, I would go to a baseball game. It would be just like watching The Three Stooges, except with a lot more stooges.

This time-lapse is more intersting than the stone-henge one

And what is with the fake-out links that occur in the posts sometimes? Is it just me?
