The Doggie Car Sack

From the Jun 1936 issue of Popular Mechanics, behold the Running Board, a DIY sack that lets your dog ride on your car, not in it!

Wont the door open and close on the dog’s head?

My dog would love that. I wouldn’t want to see the result of a sideswipe though.

Is this another great product from makers of the Mitt Romney luggage rack dog carrier?

“When you care more about material goods than living things!”
Just because dogs like hanging their heads out the window, does not mean they want the rest of themselves out the window.

Stay tuned - next month they tell how to make a DIY kid’s carrier - got to keep that new Edsel clean and shiny.

T-bone collision = dead doggie. But hey, it’s just a dog, right?

Doesn’t look that easy to get the dog in there, either. I’d like to see someone try to cram an excited, wriggling dog into a canvas sack. Good luck with that!

When you stumble across a bad idea from the past, remember that likely everyone in the past thought it was a bad idea too. That’s why it didn’t catch on.

    Spiffy car, though.

Asbestos would be an exception to that. Once nicknamed “The miracle mineral!”

Hey, asbestos curtains prevented a lot of theatre fires.
