Heart-Shaped Tumor

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT look at any of the other hand injuries!!!

I was expecting much worse when I clicked the link. Maybe I’m too desensitized. I wish I could blame it on the internet like most people… A tumor that large must have been incredibly uncomfortable on the right palm.

I couldn’t help myself. I had to look at all of those injuries. As someone who works alongside an orthopaedic surgeon in an emergency room and who deals with this kind of thing on a regular basis, I’m surprised how those pictures still made me cringe. It’s very odd. I think I have some kind of conditioned response to looking at gross stuff online. Or maybe I simply pull myself together when the scared, injured person is standing next to me.

I wonder if anyone else in the medical field experiences this too?
