…I don’t know $8.00 for happiness. Does it come with a guarantee?

Geez, I thought that was quite reasonably priced. However, I wonder how long the happiness lasts? Is it habit forming? Can you give it away? How about a subscription? Any varieties?

Happiness may be 4 dollars and change, but keep in mind that like happiness, freedom isn’t free. Freedom costs a buck o five.

When I first saw that, that was also the first thing that went through my mind. I, too, thought they went out of business.

All the Woolworths in St. Louis Missouri have closed up. I thought they went down the drain nationwide.

thats funny. got a big tip and I say this with a huge knowledge of the insides of woolworths and its helper companys, dont buy anything electrical from them. it was my job to palm people off when their shoddy goods broke and i hated every second of it. look very carefully into the returns policy of every item you buy you will be supprised.

Just to clear up a few things on this post.

A, The receipt is from the now almost defunct Woolworths in the UK - which was part of FW Woolworths (US) until the late 70s early 80s.

B, Woolworths AUSTRALIA, NZ, other Australasian places is not affiliated with, nor has it ever been a part of FW Woolworths, or Woolworths UK. The same goes for Woolworths South Africa, which is more closely owned by the British Marks and Spencers - Not FWW again.

C, The last remaining “Division” of FW Woolworths in the US is now FootLocker. The last remaining Division of FWW in the world that bears the Woolworths name still (now that the UK stores are closing down), is the German/Austrian Woolworths. Woolworths.de

D, The receipt pictured gives the prices in Pounds Sterling (£), not the Dollar, Not the Euro, The French Franc, or the Deutchmark etc. There is no listed $10 tax.

Mr Thumb. Surprised has one P in it.

RIP Woolies UK. Gonna Miss Ya.

I think you will find that ‘happiness’ is a perfume brand from some strange french firm. Oh btw that receipt is from the British woolworths chain as that address is from the UK and you can clearly see its pound sterling, not dollars. Never the less that legendary chain that was exactly 100 years old this new year is now all but gone, thanks to the credit crunch so we should say R.I.P to a legendary high street chain….
