CD Shaped Like Retro Floppy Disk!

By Alex in Gadgets, Hacks & Mods on Dec 4, 2007 at 3:47 am

Here’s something retrotastic: a CDR shaped to look like 3.5 in floppy disks!

The disks can hold 200 MB of data (compared to the 1.22 MB it is modeled to look like) and comes with blue, red, green, and yellow "labels." Link – via Geeked Info, thanks Ed!

Do NOT insert into a slot-load optical drive. Or maybe do it just once to learn why it’s a really, really, really bad idea.

Awesome idea! I don’t know about $14 awesome, but still pretty cool. And yes jake, that would make a great Blue Monday release!

It looks like a piece of plastic glued onto a normal CDR. It would have been much better if it was a true square disc like the business card CDRs. I could make those at home easily.

I’m pretty sure that floppies held 1.44 MB, not 1.22, but I could be wrong.

Imagine the reactions when you pop the floppy into the CD drive! I have a huge box of floppies, I used to use nothing but them. . . .
