Emma Luna's Ceramic Terry Cloths Sculpture

Posted by Alex in Arts & Crafts on November 30, 2007 at 3:27 am

If you’re wondering why this stack of purple terry cloths made by artist Emma Luna is doing on Neatorama, then she’d done her job well. You see, those aren’t actually cloths – it’s a ceramic sculpture made to look just like the real things!

Well done, but I wouldn't wanna have it. Just imagine the woes of dusting that sculpture... ;)

About a third of the way up I see a baby bird - two eyes and a crossed beak. Trouble is, once you've seen it you can't stop seeing it!

Reminds me of Liz Magor's sculptures.

You look at them from one side and see a pile of folded towels but walk around and you are suprised by what they are concealing. The sculptures are made from a similar material as well.
