In Spain, Popeye’s girlfriend is "Rosario". In Portugal, she’s "Olívia Palito."

    False. In Spain, Olive is called Olivia.

    That is also wrong in Spain we call her Puta.

    In Mexico and Latin America Olive Oyl is "Oliva Olivo". And yeah, sometimes is Olivia.

    Puta means slut, so that was a "witty" joke.

    Speaking of Popeye, the original newspaper comic strips by E.C.Segar are being reprinted again. Highly recommended.

    ok, I came to tell you tha tthe Spanish info was incorrect... but I see I'm not the first ;)

    I'm pretty sure everyone is just confused because Popeye actually has many women in many different ports.

    in turkey her name is "Salfinaz", popeye is "Temel Reis" :)

    Ha! Olívia Palito would mean Olivia Toothpick in Portuguése.
