Skull Illusion Scarf

My mother has been asking me what kind of scarf she could knit for me for years, but I’m just not a scarf person… well I wasn’t.

From most angles this appears to be your average striped scarf, but when you look at it from a certain angle… skull and cross bones appear out of the stripes. This looks to be the “must have” fashion item for all urban pirates this fall.

Ysolda Teague created the pattern and provides instructions on how to create your own skull illusion scarf.

I remember these being really popular on the knitting boards on craftster for a while. They’re a pretty cool idea. Was tempted to knit one but I’d just made a load of kitty hats with matching scarfs…yes I am a dork :p

I wonder if it’s crochetable. I can’t stand knitting.
