PostSecret: a Spam Blog According to Blogger

Posted by Alex in Blog & Internet on September 16, 2007 at 12:46 pm

Something weird is happening at Post Secret, the popular blog that features secrets mailed in anonymously in art-form on postcards by its viewers.

Today, the blog was gone: it was shut down by Blogger, a free blogging service by Google, after it was mistaken as a spam blog!

Let’s hope that this will get fixed soon.

The site is now fixed, thank goodness. :)

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

I've said this other places, but I'll say it here, too - Blogger/Google should think about making a huge donation to Hopeline as an apology for this.

Argh, count me in amongst the folks glad to hear that PostSecret is back. I saw Frank Warren speak at my university last year and it made the already-beautiful project even more inspirational. We really are lucky to live in an age where it's more clear than ever that connecting with other human beings - realizing that our deep, dark secrets aren't so uniquely ours as we'd thought - isn't so impossible, after all...
