Sarkozy’s Vanishing Love Handles

Perhaps inspired by Putin’s buff body, other world leaders are taking off their shirts. But when France’s president Nicholas Sarkozy’s picture was published in Paris Match magazine, a rival publication noticed that his love handles were tactfully airbrushed away:

Speculation is rife that Mr Sarkozy used his powerful contacts in the French media to demand some serious airbrushing.

Paris Match is owned by a close friend, Arnaud Lagardere, whose other paper Le Journal du Dimanche recently dropped a story revealing that Mr Sarkozy’s wife Cecilia had not voted for him in the election.
