Pretty good explanations, though I’m skeptical of his interpretations on the identity of Miss American Pie.

Also, “They caught the last train for the coast” was thought to signify the departure of the rock and roll scene to California.

Oh found it: Wikipedia has a pretty nice entry on the meaning behind American Pie.

The beauty of American Pie is the multiple meanings each line has.

But if some asshole wants to make some definitive and incorrect video, he can be my guest.

I’ve met Don Mclean. He is a neighbor of a friend of mine. I find it fascinating that he’s so famous for something he did almost 40 years ago.

” I find it fascinating that he’s so famous for something he did almost 40 years ago.”

As opposed to all the famous things that famous people did throughout the entire history of humankind?

    hahahaha
