The Kowloon Walled City.

Kowloon

Supposedly the most densely populated area on earth before it’s demolition in 1993, the Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong had buildings so cramped that most residents didn’t see sunlight. See more pictures at deputydog. Link

Scored dope there a few times in 1988 and 1989. Hong Kong was such a strange and wonderful place back then.

My first thought was, "Where'd they put all the inhabitants?"

That would have been an awesome set for a movie... and the studio wouldn't even have to foot the bill for set design.

What's even more interesting about Kowloon Walled City is
that it basically functioned without any form of real government for decades, while the British and Chinese argued over who was responsible for it

I think I had some kids there, too. I wonder where they went after the place got torn down in 92-93?
