South African Braai Etiquette

South Africans are serious about braaing [braai = barbecue]. It’s so serious there’s even a hierarchy – first the tong master, then the boerie layer, and finally the fork pronger.

    I just got back from ZA, and braai'ing is more common there than barbecuing is in Texas believe it or not. Maybe Texas was colonized by South Africans!
    Wish I could get me some lekker boerewors here!
