How walkable is your neighborhood?

Walk Score helps people find walkable places to live. Walk Score calculates the walkability of an address by locating nearby stores, restaurants, schools, parks, etc.

My neighborhood scored 34 out of 100, which is awful, and they didn’t even take into account that there are no sidewalks! Link -via Reddit

88/100 They listed an Adult Book store as a movie theater - shouldn't it count for books as well?

77/100. (Moving my address 2 1/2 blocks raised my score by 9 points.) They did the same thing for me regarding the adult book store/movie theater. Eric, you don't live in Denver by any chance, do you?

I got a 34 too, and I live in a Beaver Cleaverish neighborhood. But that's sort of the problem. Note what they say: "Walk Score helps people find walkable places to live. Walk Score calculates the walkability of an address by locating nearby stores, restaurants, schools, parks, etc." They're not judging places by whether they're safe or pleasant to walk in, but on whether you can function in the neighborhood without having a car.

I got an 18, but there are some places not listed that are a lot closer than places that they do list. IE the grocery store is a lot closer than the library.

A take-out place was listed as a restaurant. o_O 77/100...I thought the whole set-up was OK.

Walk Score certainly is a work-in-progress, but I think it has a future once they get the bugs worked out.

    Thanks for the tip Neatorama!

I got an 82 - very walkable. And they didn't even count the psychic/palm reader right behind my house. How many people can walk to a palm reading, I ask you...
