Can we please retire the word "steampunk"?

Why would we retire the word steampunk? It's just as apt to describe that genre as cyberpunk is to describe that perticular sci-fi genre.

    Retire the word steampunk? Why?

    Love that wheelchair picture...so bizarre!

How else would you describe the artwork, if not "steampunk"?

Very nice! Retire the word steampunk I am not sure what reason someone would have to want to change it? What is something better to call it? It does sound a little uncreative, the word punk anyways. They don't seem very similar. I wonder if instead of using the word steam, we used cog, or brass, something related to it perhaps.

But Steampunk is a art genre of its own already.
Its like trying to retire the term "pop art" or "art nouveau" - you just can't.
Other than looking a bit wobbly on balance, i love the robot and the funky wheelchair!
