Gruesome Taxidermy by Sarina Brewer.
Taxidermy artist Sarina Brewer creates some fantastic creatures, like two-headed squirrels, chimeras (like this cat/chicken "griffin" to the left), as well as other more gruesome yet fascinating sculptures.

Oooh I remember this site from a few years ago. Shes still around? Amazing. Love the work, hate the prices. Still… A uicorn, griffon, or capricorn would look amazing. Hmm… guess I should start saving up.
They used to be cheaper, I think. This site really puts new life (no pun intended) into the art of taxidermy. I’d love to get involved.
The big thing I wonder is where/how they get all their resources. >_> Hmm… maybe I shouldn’t think about that. They use a lot of cats.
yeah, it says on the website that none of the animals she uses were killed for the art
so maybe animal shelters, exterminators, stuff like that
probably got them (the cats and other domestic animals) from the same places medical companies get them to sell to high schools and colleges for dissection…mostly humane societies that run out of room, and like arielle said, some exterminators that take care of feral cat/rat/wild animal problems in the country.
I happen to own a couple of her pieces. If I am not mistaken, the bulk of her inventory consists of donations and roadkills. I also know for a fact that she prides herself on using as much of the animal as possible.
A great Canadian gaff maker is Prof. Orbax over at FiendishCuriosities.com . He actually has real mounted freaks of nature for sale as well.
