well, the banana will looked pierced, won't it?

How about using the needle to slice the banana with a rigth and left motion? I have to try this.

Anyway, the only good bananas are Foster Bananas!

Oh I remember watching a magic debunking show. The magician used a toothpick since it's quite handy and no one would wonder why are you using a needle or syringe to poke your banana...

    ...that sounded so wrong. :o

i did it. it made little black spots all over the nana, and it didn't taste good. i think the thread was old or something.

Yes, that's a much easier and more effective way to do this. Not to mention that you can pierce different places around the banana so it could look like normal spots instead of dotted rings all around the banana. Doing it with thread just takes longer and gives you a sh****er result.

I remember when Mr. Wizard did this on Nickelodeon, that guy was/is my hero.

Thank you so much for posting this! I not only saw the episode of Mr. Wizard (I believe I was 9 at the time) but also destroyed a whole bunch of bananas in the process (my mom was not pleased). No matter how clean the needle, the banana will always have brown spots where the needle goes through. Unless the banana is pretty old to begin with, I can't foresee anyone falling for this 'trick'.
