Xavier, a ten-month old kitten in Rhode Island, is disabled and cannot walk or support his own weight. He is under the care of an educator from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. A fourth grade class in Oklahoma heard of Xavier’s plight and raised $500 to buy a custom kitty wheelchair. Now he can get around! Link (with video) -via Arbroath

$500 !?! I bet $50 that a fourth grade class could make a custom kitty wheelchair for under $100.

It’s nice it can walk now, I wonder how it’ll sleep or defecate though

I wonder if it’ll still walk after I kick it across the room.

Hmm. Good question, Christopher. We should test it out on you first, of course.

Rear paralyzed cats CAN and DO have a full, healthy life with the right people to care for them. Whether or not bladder and bowels work on their own depends on the cat and if they don’t, it not at all difficult to deal with. Learn a lot more at http://www.handicappedpets.com
