Daniel Rozin's Shiny Balls Mirror.

Posted by Alex in Arts & Crafts, Pictures on March 2, 2007 at 11:46 am

We’ve featured Daniel Rozin’s interactive wooden mirror before, here’s another one: a mechanical mirror made with shiny balls:

921 hexagonal black-anodized aluminum tube extrusion, 921 chrome-plated plastic balls, 819 motors, control electronics, video camera, computer. Size – W 56" x H 50" x D 20" (142cm, 127cm, 50cm) The third addition to the mechanical mirror group, Shiny Balls Mirror displays a crisp and clean facade of aluminum and chrome utilizing the jewel-like reflections on its balls to form the reflection of the viewer twice: Once on each ball and once on the entire piece.
