Meet Milo, the cute Mexican Hairless Dog whose tongue sticks out all the time:
What is that?
A dog. He is a Xoloitzcuintli (pronounced; show -low- eetz -queent -lee), a.k.a. Mexican Hairless Dog, one of the oldest breeds in the world. They were revered by the Aztecs who used them as (among other things) hot water bottles. Think “three dog night.” They were thought to have healing powers and were rumored to make tasty barbeque. Not to be confused with a Chihuahua. What’s wrong with Milo’s tongue?
Absolutely Nothing! Why does it hang out like that?
Remember when your parents told you that if you kept sticking your tongue out, it would stay that way? He didn’t listen. Actually, it’s because he’s missing too many teeth. It’s common with the breed.
