So we see a very brief clip of the guy actually doing the shoelace bit, and a whole lot of people going “wow”, and not showing you what they’re looking at, or even including him in the shot.
Looks like he knows how to shake his loosely-tied laces apart, and reversing the film.

What time warp is Neatorama in lately? Most of what has been posted here in the last month or so consists of ancient video clips that have been making the rounds for months.
I’m sorry to be critical, but I used to check in here to find stuff that wasn’t posted everywhere else. While the updates weren’t frequent, at least most posts were fresh.

New to me as well … they should’ve shown the trick with the people WOWing … I don’t believe this at all. The video looks reversed to me. I hate it when they show people going “wow” … I don’t want to see their reactions, I want to see the trick!

The video is not reversed. He shakes two ropes as he pulls them in and rises up a bit the trousers showing another premade shoelace… Orsomethinglikethat

The whole reason for him showing peoples reactions and not showing the trick over and over again is because it would visually lose the effect of seeing it only once. And it’s exactly for the same reason of all you saying it’s a “dumb magic trick” it’s not hard to figure out a lot of magic tricks, especially if you see it a bunch of times.
Also if you enjoy learning and sharing magic tricks you would be interested in seeing peoples reactions. That’s the whole point of doing them. It’s a good way to sell something, which he’s doing.

Yayo pretty much explained it. Fishing line hooked up to the ends of the untied laces, while you shake your leg, you raise your arms to do the “look ma, no hands!” gag which ends up pulling the loose ends up… shaking causes your pant legs to rise slightly to reveal the tied up laces hiding under.
