Five-Legged Dog.

Charlie the dog has five - count ‘em - five legs. From Local6:

Two veterinarians who have treated Charlie since he was found in Alabama said they have never seen anything like it before.

The dog’s right front leg is two conjoined limbs that appear to be paws, according to the report.

Charlie’s surrogate parents are hoping for surgery before he’s adopted, but the surgery is going to cost at least $1,400.

The agency has found a family in neighboring Georgia to adopt both Charlie and his brother Hank, but a representative says the deformity must be fixed.

It’s tragic and ridiculous that Charlie’s potential adopters won’t take him the way he is. What, are they afraid that his fifth leg won’t match their furniture? As a parent of five adopted cats I speak from experience when I say that’s not why you adopt pets.

I agree - if the dog is thriving, then why operate on him and put him through that? If the potential adopters don’t like “the deformity” then why on earth are they considering adopting him? Can’t this agency find someone to adopt Charlie just as he is?

Either a bullet or leave it alone, just pick one.

Charlie gets along very well I think. I just had a 5 legged puppy that was dropped off where I work. Sadly this puppy can not walk well and falls because the two front legs on one side are causing him to lose his balance. Maybe when he gets older he can adjust better to his deformity. If not I will opt to have them removed if I can afford the surgery.
