Gas Tank Orchestra features a wide range of instruments including strings, reeds, horns, and percussion, all constructed with discarded automobile gas tanks from the streets of New Orleans by Artist/Musician/Scientist Gregory John Wildes. GTO is an orchestra improvising with improvised instruments.

    [...] I just returned from a huge concert/festival on the East coast and am feeling musically inspired so I just had to find something to help those out there who like making their own instruments. Using a bunch of old gas tanks these guys make music. There isn’t a how-to on the site but there are pictures of the instruments. It wouldn’t be to hard to go down to your local wrecking yard and grab an old gas tank and make an instrument of your own. (via) [...]
