On display at the Takashimaya Department store in Tokyo: a $1.72 million Christmas cake:

A total of 223 diamonds including a 5-carat, heart-shaped stone adorn the double-layer, marzipan-coated fruitcake, designed by Tokyo-based sweets chef Jeong Hong-yong.

I loved Takashimaya in Japan... you can spot them from almost anywhere in Tokyo with a large, minimalistic logo on the top of the stores: OIOI, any geek would appreciate it looking like binary code.

My gf at the time would get upset for calling it by it's phonetic equivalent "oi oi", and would often correct me stating it was pronounced "Takashimaya!"
