As a film project, this is wonderful! As a quiz... not so much. They gave away the answers in the opening description for each scene. I guessed them all from that alone.
Eugene's cause is truly noble, although it's doubtful that the advertisers will agree when they find out that their billboards have been appropriated.
This is why I'm not sure it's noble. Those spaces are the rental property of the advertisers. They paid for that space.
It would be like if Lavie rented space in an art gallery to show his work, only to discover that advertisers and broken in and covered up his artwork with billboards.
In Finland removing your shoes when entering someone's home is the default. A considerate homeowner may give you permission to leave your shoes on if you are just very shortly dropping by or if you are there to do work (for example plumber or electrician). If you don't take of your shoes, you are most likely not asked to, but you will be silently judged and resented as a rude and inconsiderate person. A major exception to the rule of no shoes inside are formal parties, you are not excpected to remove dress shoes or high heels when people gather in someone's home to celebrate a graduation, granma's 90th birthday or some other occasion where everyone wears suits and ties and dresses.
The custom makes sense, since most of the year it's either wet, snowy or muddy outside in Finland, and homes are warm and cozy. Personally I also feel much more comfortable when I don't have shoes on, so I think my home would be a shoeless one, even if the culture around me was different.
Surprised to see Neatorama publish a Scott Adams endorsement ... a little perplexed
Speaking to a Men's Rights group: "The reality is that women are treated differently by society for exactly the same reason that children and the mentally handicapped are treated differently. It’s just easier this way for everyone. You don’t argue with a four-year old about why he shouldn’t eat candy for dinner. You don’t punch a mentally handicapped guy even if he punches you first. And you don’t argue when a women tells you she’s only making 80 cents to your dollar. It’s the path of least resistance. You save your energy for more important battles." -Scott Adams
I guess I would have to first check my prejudice and tell myself not to judge people by their clothing. After all, some men in business suits are decent hardworking people.
Wow, she's really awful, even theoretically speaking. The aim of The Prince was not to create loving well adjusted people, it was to subdue them. Her techniques don't even take into account that her kids may have different needs. Oh well, they are hers to rule I guess.
Exactly, and I don't think as many of these women would dress this way if their favorite characters weren't drawn with such skimpy outfits in the first place.
And THAT'S a good point Jill....Just because a woman is dressed up as cosplay with revealing clothing, it doesn't necessarily equate her with a bar hopping whore that has no scruples.Guys are wrong for making that assumption if they do.Interesting how people will just jump to that conclusion......where they assume that a woman has no morals just because of the way she is dressed, she might just be trying to capture the essence of the character she is trying to emulate as accurately as possible. Thanks for helping me see that.
And yeah....I think if guys are going to actively seek out going to these conventions, they should understand that women dressing as their fav character might result in extra skin being shown. If they can't handle that, then maybe they need to consider not going if it bothers them that much.
All I'm saying is that if you let men say, "you deserve to get groped for wearing something sexy"... then eventually you'll find the man who thinks a woman in baggy jeans and a tee shirt is sexy... with the end result of "no matter what you wear, you deserve to get groped."
