From their honey boo-boo, to the parental abuse of your mother jumping on you, to giving birth to a one year old, I'm sure we can all agree to the moral of this story: never give your baby honey to calm them, give them alcohol instead.
Quito scared the bejeezus out of me. The city is in the bowl of an extinct volcano, making the flight a roller coaster. You fly up the side then quickly dip down along the crater wall. Wind shear adds to the excitement.
I thought we hit 8B last year? I remember hearing a lot of buzz about it. I guess with so many, it's hard to approach an accurate count, so different methodologies would yield different results.
People seem to imagine the homeless are some monolithic block: that they are all meth and heroin junkies with mental health problems who steal everything that isn't nailed down and create huge piles of garbage wherever they camp. That is a small minority that gets disproportionate press because of the problems they cause. Many of today's homeless are the working poor, who have a job but can't afford rent in this economy. In my area, we had devastating wildfires a couple summers back, and whole towns were wiped off the map. That's thousands of people who used to have homes who suddenly don't. There just aren't vacancies for that many. And then the increased demand drives up rental prices, pushing more people out of affordable housing. A minimum basic income is a big help, but we could also do with some regulation of the housing market.

Solid disagreement from me on that front. I not only enjoy the calm, tranquil scene of the goat in a blazing, hellish inferno, I also like hearing of the inventive ways in which straw goat met its untimely, yet toasty, demise. Burn baa-a-a-a-by, burn. The "baa-a-a-a" was a goat noise btw.
I was cursed with having the theme music of I Dream Of Jeannie rolling around my noggin for months. Once the first two notes played in my head I was compelled to complete the tune. Oh, the horror, the horror.
