Unless I missed it ---no ZOOM ?? My kids loved that one. They spoke "Ubbi-Dubbi". My older daughter could do that goofy thing with her arms. They made pretzels from a recipe on the show. Was fun stuff for pre-teens.

Recalling a friend who got into a NYC cab and found Lawrence Taylor's (NY Giants football star) paycheck stub on the floor. I forget the amount, but at the time it didn't seem as much as you'd think it would be.

When did they change jobs listed as secretary into office assistants et al? Probably around the same time that sales clerks became associates. Silly word world in which we are living.

My younger daughter had a cat that was a "snow cat" when we lived back in CNY. He'd sit in the snow and watch me shovel. Our other cats would have loved it here in SW FL.

When I was teaching I'd do a bit on bad science in the movies and TV. Like the Incredible Shrinking Man would become the incredibly stupid man and the Invisible Man would be blind. The students had fun with it.

Reminds me of a time when I was trout fishing with my older son on a Catskill Mountain stream that had wild brook trout. He caught one fish about 10 inches long that had a very extended belly. I wondered what it had eaten and cut it open. The fish had a foot long snake as its last meal. Wow. Those trout were like fresh water barracudas.

The way I see it, we'd be doing a lot of our youth a huge favor if we offered them training and jobs in things like automotive repair, HVAC, and the like and not in made up Associate Degrees in women's studies et al.

My maternal grandfather was a combat surgeon in WW1. He told me of troops singing Christmas carols to each other. Remember seeing a German belt buckle that has "Got Mit Uns" on it. Sad that all the killing still went on.

I remember when I first studied entomology in college, seeing "glowworms", the larvae of fireflies(lightning bugs) of the beetle family Lampiridae. Bioluminescence is a neat chemical trick. Also saw "Foxfire" when camping in the Adirondacks. Very spooky to wake up in the middle of the night and see the forest floor all aglow from bioluminescent fungus. Life is full of wonders.
