Some of us refer to protective lapdogs as "Alarm Dogs". Their job is to scare intruders and wake up the household.

My mother was an avid, accomplished knitter. She would get this sort of magazine so we would be walking around town with the latest fashions (including belted sweater vests). Wish I still had more of her talented work.
