In the Army they had us using up some old WW2 C-rations. They had cigarettes in them and I smoked them. I quit smoking in 1990, a good move for me.

We rented a half house once and there was a bath tub so big I could lie down in it and I am 6'3".

Reminds me of a little burger joint outside of Old Town Maine that we ussed to go to after a night of boozing when we were at the U of Maine. They had many "used" books and you could take one after you ate.

Craziest one I ran afoul of was when in college in Maine and having a beer at a bar, I got up to move over to chat with someone and the bartender had a fit, yelling at me . to stop. Law was no drinking while standing and a server had to move your drink if you wanted to move. All unknown to a NY guy. Not sure if that is still in effect.

Some of those old lights got pretty hot and were a new danger. Was bad enough if they were wired in series and when one bulb burned out, the whole string went out, making finding the burned out bulb a chore.

I think it changes with time. I was a night owl for sure when I was a night-time DJ on FM radio. Could never do it now at age 81.

One of ours knocked sa tree over. Had to tie it to the wall after. Also did not put "valuable" ornaments on the bottom of the tree.
