Yes, English is our second language and we use the same alphabet 26 English letters with two additional alphabets (the Spanish ñ and the Filipino digraph ng). Although we pronounce words very straight forward like the vowels: "ah, eh, i, oh, oww" we don't use the Baybayin alphabet, I mean some teach in school but only to teach us about it, not actually use it.
I think you should try watching Berserk, most underrated anime I've watch and read (manga). Also take time to watch Nagi no Asakara, visually stunning anime. You could try looking at new animes, but most of them are moe-centered and lacks so much in depth. But I've been recently following Arslan Senki and Owari no Seraph.
Watch Berserk, though I would recommend the older version than the new OVAs, because the older art style has the "feel" of the story. I will warn you that there are themes that you might not find appropriate, it's like GOT HBO. And I do recommend you reading the manga if ever you find the time. It has also inspired the game Dark Souls. I find it as one of the under appreciated anime/manga, but please give it a try.
Parasyte is great, I like how they made the character more geeky in the anime because you could really tell how Sinichi has transformed.
