There are a number of reasons why we play sports. Sports can be fun, they help to keep our bodies in good physical condition, and they nurture our competitive nature. Let's face it, when we go into a game we go to win. That's the main goal (amongst others) of any sport. So when a team has created such a large spread that it's apparent there is no reasonable chance of a come-back, and there's simply not enough time left in the game, the game should be stopped.

This shouldn't be up to the coaches. We need to enforce good sportsmanlike conduct by enforcing a point-spread & time rule. The referee should be able to make a judgment call that has to be backed by the opinions of both of the team's coaches.

I think in this situation both teams would've agreed that continuing to play was no longer fun, competitive, or employing good sportmanship.

I haven't the slightest clue if Mars was once a planet engulfed by plants and water. What I do know is that it's virtually impossible for plant life to exist there now.

Mars is outside of the suitable distance from the Sun, it has a super thin atmosphere, it's axis can change up to 30 degrees within a relatively brief a period of time, and it only has one tectonic plate. Why does all of this matter?

The average recorded temperature on Mars is -81 °F. The maximum temperature is approximately 68 °F and the minimum is -220 °F. So on a good day in the hottest place on the planet the temperature is suitable for life. The rest of the time is simply impossible.

Nuff said.

Here's my suggestion: Give the automakers the money they need and more, under one condition. The government must have 100% oversight, and 51% control over both Ford and GM's decision making processes.

If they want our tax money, our government should have most of the say in what they'll be producing from now on. There's no guarantee that the Federal Government will force Ford and GM to build affordable eco-friendly vehicles, but there's certainly a greater chance than in the past.

We've stood by for too long watching these companies produce inefficient vehicles while shipping their eco-friendly hybrids and EVs overseas. Vehicles that whose research, development, and production were all funded by hard earned U.S. dollars. It's time they listen to the increasing aggravation of the Amercian public, and head the call for greener technology, and vehicles that run off a fuel source that's readily available within the U.S.

Drinking at age 18? I can't see much of a difference between the two. Sure it may reduce binge drinking, but it's simply not realistic to lower the age by a few years. We need a complete cultural overhaul. You cannot expect a law to do the work in enforcing itself. We need parental figures to do that job, not the government. Simply put, we need to allow parents to determine the drinking age for their children. Sure there may be a few screwy folks out there that will get their kids drunk before age 8, but that's the worst case scenario in that specific situation. By allowing parents to regulate legal drinking for their children by say, a very very small glass of wine for dinner, we will be setting up a more responsible approach to drinking.
