Reminds me of a visitor to the east shore of Onondaga Lake near Syracuse admiring the "white cliffs" on the west shoreline. They were waste piles from the Solvay Process plant there. Made the lake one of the most polluted in the US.

My uncle used to beachcomb in Florida after storms, and he had a couple shoeboxes full of shark's teeth he had collected. He had one about that size, and we all assumed it was from a megalodon. It's about 3 times the size of anything you'd see on a great white.

Sometimes that shark he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. And, you know, the thing about a shark... he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be living... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'.

Yeah, I think the extra options were there for a couple of reasons. Some people will simply guess and that gives a 33% chance of randomly being correct. By having a couple of extra options they can reduce that by giving people options that they may feel are correct. This also helps find additional flaws in reasoning that would be missed if only options 1, 2, or 3 were available.

I also arrived at the correct answer, but I got there by assessing the truth of the statements first without guessing where the cat was. Then I doubled back and checked it by assuming the cat's location first just in case my logic was faulty. A fun exercise, but I am still a little surprised that just 36% of people got it. I would have guessed at least 50% would have figured it out.
