Gauldar: Bill Mumy was excellent in Babylon 5. He was had a small role in the excellent 1973 movie, Pappillon, with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman.
On point #5, I've heard that Roddenberry's pitch to CBS was more like Star Trek, The Next Generation with a young boy (Wesley/Will) on board with his scientist/doctor mom and a robot (Data/B9). Rumor has it that CBS stole Roddenberry's idea, used it to make Lost In Space, and Star Trek was picked up by another network (ABC, I think).
