This is rather odd. Percussion caps were developed about 1830, based upon the discovery of fulminates in 1800. So if this is from the 16th century, it could not have been designed to be fired using percussion caps. If this is from the 16th century, it most definitely was not fired in the way they demonstrated (although that is a very interesting method).
